TRANSMISSION FLUID
No practical field test. Transmission fluid is used to cool, lubricate and provide the hydraulic pressure necessary to make your transmission shift properly. When the fluid changes color and smells burnt this indicates that it has been overheated and can no longer completely perform it’s designated functions.

This will eventually lead to very expensive replacement or rebuilding of your transmission. We will suggest flushing or servicing the transmission when we determine that the fluid has been overheated and also suggest servicing the transmission at the mileage that the manufacturer recommends.
