Our History

Southern Indiana Tire-Wholesale began in 1971 in Princeton Indiana, and is one of the founding members of the Best One Group, formally known as the Zurcher Group.  Our goal was, and is, simple: Have quality products at competitive prices, while helping our Dealers to be the most trained in their marketplace.  This goal will help ensure Dealers to be profitable.  That simple philosophy has served us well for over 35 years.

We have experienced consistent growth throughout our history.  Along with volume, we have grown in relationships, and made many great friends along the way.  From humble beginnings, with only 5 associates, we have progressed to our current team of over 50 operating from a 128,000 sq ft facility.  Included in our facility is a state of the art Learning Center.  We offer various training for our Dealers, covering a wide range of topics.  If a Dealer is to keep pace with our ever changing environment, training is not an option, but a requirement.  SIT is proud to help our Dealers with every thing from TIA certifications, to financial and asset management.

Our goals haven’t changed, but notably our system of delivery has.  In the early days a “load” meant a full ½ ton pickup once a week.  Today we run 40 weekly routes, in 26 foot box vans, serving our Dealers multiple times per week.  Our team has become very efficient in expediting tires to our customers.  Facility changes have also occurred.  We out grew our original site, a 2.4 acre plot and a 7500 sq. ft. warehouse, built in 1973.  After doubling our capacity in the 80’s and again in the 90’s we were forced to think bigger!  In 2000 we purchased a 52 acre site that is our current home.  We have plenty of room for future, anticipated growth.  On our current site we also have a Bandag Retread facility where we offer Bandag retreading, foam fill, rim reconditioning and aluminum wheel polishing.

Today we offer Dealer Programs, not just tires at a price.  Tire Starz, Dealer/Edge, and Firestone Certified Ag Programs are designed to separate Dealers from their competition, and offer a true advantage in their respective marketplace.

Our future goal is really the same goal that we have had for over 35 years: Quality products, competitive prices, and helping train Dealers to be the best.  We look forward to many new relationships and many more new friends.
